GĐPT Kim Quang – còn có tên là Kim Quang Foundation, là một tổ chức bất vụ lợi, được thành lập vào tháng 3 năm 1978 và chính thức ra mắt vào Lễ Vu Lan cùng năm. GĐPT Kim Quang đã được hun đúc và dạy dỗ bởi cố Hòa Thượng Thích Thiện Trì. Thầy Cố Vấn Giáo Hạnh hiện thời là Đại Đức Thích Thiện Duyên, Trú trì Chùa Kim Quang. Dưới sự thương yêu, đùm bọc và hướng dẫn của Thầy, GĐPT Kim Quang ngày càng phát triển. Hiện nay có đến 140 anh chị em đang sinh hoạt dưới mái chùa thân yêu.

Purpose:
The purpose of the Kim Quang Buddhist Youth Scholarship is designed to provide a small financial reward and encouragement to students who demonstrate commitment to GÐPT, academic excellence, and a willingness to contribute to the betterment of their families, schools, and community. One of our goals at GÐPT is to instill the principle that happiness and social well-being of each individual, our families, and communities will depend upon the daily practice and application of the basic teaching of Buddha – compassion and wisdom; commitment to excellence; and service to others. Thus, we believe this scholarship will be served as an encouragement to continue these efforts and a small reward for the diligent practice of the Buddha’s teaching.
Tibet: A Buddhist Trilogy is an amazing documentary filmed in the late 1970's. It is one of the most impressive films on Tibetan culture ever made. The film starts with the monks of Sera Monastery debating- the debates are translated in real time- allowing the viewer to follow the philosophical debate. For practioners and Tibet supporters this film is a must see. The film will be shown in New York, California and Washington. Please see below for details and a brief synopsis.
